Payment of dues acknowledges that you agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the American Academy of Audiology. Member also consents to receive all electronic communications sent by the Academy unless the member expressly communicates to the Academy membership department that they do not want to receive them.

The American Academy of Audiology does not require CEUs to maintain membership.

Affiliate Membership

Eligibility

An Affiliate Member is one who holds at least a masters degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, and has an active professional interest in hearing, hearing science, or audiology in accordance with current Academy policy. An affiliate member is not an audiologist or is not otherwise eligible for membership as a Fellow. Affiliate Members are prohibited from using affiliation with the Academy for the promotion of commercial products or services.

Submit a copy of your highest diploma, your curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation from current Fellows of the American Academy of Audiology.

Audiology Technician Affiliate

Eligibility

An audiology technician affiliate is one who provides hearing or balance care services in a supporting role for an Academy Fellow member. Audiology technician affiliate members hold all rights and obligations of Fellow membership, except they shall not vote or hold office. To be eligible, he or she must be sponsored and require supervision by an Academy Fellow. An audiology technician affiliate member is not an audiologist and is not otherwise eligible for membership as a Fellow member. Audiology technician affiliate members are prohibited from using affiliation with the Academy for promotion of commercial products or services..

In order to apply for audiology technician affiliate membership, your supervising audiologist must be a current Fellow member of the Academy. Please have your supervising audiologist email membesrship@audiology.org stating he/she will support your application.

Fellow (Doctoral Student Candidate) Membership

Eligibility

A Fellow must have at least a Masters degree, if earned before Jan. 1, 2007, or at least a Doctoral degree if earned Jan. 1, 2007, or after. A Fellow must be licensed to practice by their state or have proof of completion of 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum, and proof of successful completion of a national exam in audiology.

International Fellow Membership

Eligibility

An International Fellow holds at least a Master's Degree in Audiology from a US institution of higher learning. A non-US degree is accepted with documentation that the degree held is the equivalent of a Master's degree in the US. International Fellows may vote, hold office, shall receive all Academy publications and materials, and are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

Documentation Submit a completed application, being sure to sign the Code of Ethics, as well as a copy of your curriculum vitae, a copy of your highest diploma and proof of equivalency, if applicable.

Eligibility

An International Member possesses formal academic training in audiology from a non-US postsecondary academic institution, and/or has clinical or research experience in the area of audiology, although no restrictions are placed on the type of degree held. International Members may not vote or hold office, but shall receive all Academy publications and materials and are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

Eligibility

A SAA Member must be enrolled full-time in a doctoral-level audiology program at an accredited institution. A SAA Member must not be eligible to be a Fellow Member.

Undergraduate Associate Membership

Eligibility

An Undergraduate Associate member is one who is either enrolled in an undergraduate program or post-baccalaureate program at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Undergraduate Associate members may not vote or hold office, but shall receive all Academy publications and materials and are entitled to all other benefits of membership. Undergraduate Associate members must have an active interest in the field of audiology. Undergraduate Associate membership will terminate upon matriculation into a doctoral program in audiology.

In order to apply for Undergraduate Associate membership, you will need to have a faculty member at your school willing to verify you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-baccalaureate program. Please have a faculty member email membership@audiology.org verifying your enrollment.
